TRIBUTES

Anne George fans span the globe.

Anne’s dedication to place, culture, and humor tickled the funny bone of many. Her fan mail even included letters from Birmingham visitors and their pictures taken of Vulcan’s— at the time, undraped—derrière. How we miss those mighty buns.

While there were countless newspaper articles and reviews written during the Sisters Mania, several articles and posts have popped up over the recent years. Including a tribute to Anne and Orange Rolls—those Sister Sheubert delicacies that every Southern woman had in her freezer. Suppose an unexpected visitor were to stop by! Patricia Anne wouldn’t dare be caught without a pan or some leftover in the freezer. Just 15 seconds in the microwave and they’re as good as fresh. How we miss those mighty buns, too. The post even has a from-scratch recipe that Anne’s granddaughter has adopted as her own, and brings out every Christmas Morning.

What an impact she had.

A note from Anne’s family:

I have received a few emails from visitors of this site expressing how much Anne and her work left a bright light in their lives, and often, how much they miss her. I, having just re-read Murder Boogies with Elvis, share that sentiment and decided we needed a place for you to leave your notes or memories of Anne, Patricia Anne, Mary Alice, Artie, Sara, and especially Fred.

We love to read them.
